Dare 14: You don’t need to prove it

Hey world changers!

It’s been a long while indeed since I’ve written here. Someone inspired me to pick this up again and now I realized how much I’ve missed this. But let’s cut to the chase and talk about today’s dare.

Have you ever felt like you aren’t good enough and can’t get anything right? You feel like you can never please God enough? If we’re honest I think we have all had those days of doubt. But I was recently reminded of Isaiah 64:6. It says “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” Okay so at first this verse sounds really depressing right? Think again. It says all of our righteous acts are like filthy rags. So our best works to God are just stinky, gross rags. To me that takes a load off my mind. God died for us knowing that was the best we could do. He’s not sitting up in Heaven saying “Those stupid humans can’t get anything right. Here I went dying for them and going through all hell and they can’t even give me anything but dirty rags. Boy did I ever waste my time on them!”. Sounds totally hilarious putting those words in God’s mouth right? I laugh every time I think about it like that. Believing that God loves us even when we mess up is life changing. And I mean truly believing it. If we love God we are going to try our best to please him and do what’s right but for when we mess up I hope we can remind ourselves of this verse. So that’s the dare for today. Next time you see someone (or your self) beating themselves up for not being “good enough” remind them of this verse and that God loves them anyways.

Until next time lovely, blessed and capable children of God. Now go change the world! 🙂
